We took the train from London to Swansea, stopping briefly at Cardiff for a lunch break. The weather wasn’t great which dampened our appreciation of these two Welsh cities but we enjoyed the Welsh accent – females in particular. It took a while to perfect saying Swansea with a z. The next morning we picked up a rental and headed into the charming Brecon Beacons national park wending our way via Brecon to our second overnight stay in Abergavenny.  On our last day in this short visit to Wales we made our way east and down the Wye Valley through the Welsh towns of Monmouth, Tintern and Chepstow before heading across the Bristol Channel to our destination, Bath.
