We were charmed by Paris by the time we had walked from Gare du Nord to our quaint hotel off Rue de Martyrs in the 9th district of Paris. The Napoleonic architecture and city design was distinctly different to London and we were greeted with a street market followed by a somewhat exasperated receptionist for whom it was all too much but nothing was too much trouble. With only 2 nights we could only hit the main tourist spots – but they are special. Hope you like what I was able to capture in our brief visit before we headed south.
