The morning in Ullapool dawned fine after the storm the day before. While our destination was the Isle of Skye we had to detour via the outskirts of Inverness due to a road blockage. We entered Skye from the Kyle of Lochalsh and left the next day by ferry to Mallaigh and from there to Glasgow. This gallery covers the two days travel  either side of Skye. Not entirely sure if it is still considered the Highlands – there was some spectacular scenery around Glencoe and lots of lochs. Glasgow felt like a city that deserved more time than we had as we caught the early train back to London next day.
