Description
The Kererū is an ungainly bird not overly well suited to flying and even less to landing on flimsy branches in the delightful New Zealand Kowhai tree. And yet that is what it does – every year descending on the Kowhai outside my bedroom window to feast upon the late autumn leaves. Beats me why!
