Riding the Waimarie Paddle Steamer

The Waimarie is a coal fired-paddle steamer, built in 1899, refurbished and relaunched in 2000 after almost 50 years sitting submerged following an accident. The Waimarie now sails regularly on the lower reaches of the Whanganui river. The images capture a recent voyage on a fine calm autumn day.
